RishtaAI Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

RishtaAI ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that analyzes WhatsApp chat exports to give you fun, shareable insights about your conversations — compatibility score, reply patterns, flags, and emoji breakdowns.

2. What data we access

When you import a WhatsApp chat .txt (or .zip containing the .txt) into RishtaAI:

• The chat file is read from your device's storage.
• It is parsed and analyzed entirely on your device, in app memory.
• It is never transmitted to any server we control.
• It is never stored persistently by RishtaAI after you close the report screen.

3. What data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your chat messages.
• We do not collect your contacts, phone number, or any account credentials.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data — because we don't have any.

4. Local app preferences

RishtaAI saves a small set of preferences locally on your device using Android's standard SharedPreferences:

• Whether you've completed the onboarding screen.
• Premium purchase status (if you upgrade in a future version).

These are stored only on your phone and are removed when you uninstall the app.

5. Sharing analysis cards

When you tap "Share" inside RishtaAI to post a story card on Instagram, WhatsApp, or anywhere else, an image is generated on your device and handed to Android's standard share sheet. You choose where it goes. We don't see, store, or transmit the shared image.

6. Permissions we use

• Read shared files — to receive the WhatsApp chat .txt when you tap "RishtaAI" in WhatsApp's Export Chat share sheet.
• Read storage (legacy Android) — to let you pick a chat file via the file picker, if you saved it manually.
• Internet — currently used only by Google Play system services (not by RishtaAI's logic). When we add optional AI insights in a future version, we will update this policy and obtain consent before any data leaves your device.

7. Children's privacy

RishtaAI is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Future changes

If we ever add optional cloud features (such as AI-generated narrative summaries), we will:

• Update this policy with the new section before the feature ships.
• Make the feature opt-in, with a clear explanation of what data leaves your device.
• Never upload your chat without your explicit consent.
