Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Sanatan App ("the App") collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Summary
- We do not collect any personally identifiable information.
- We do not run any account or login system.
- We do not send your data to any server we control.
- All your in-app data (favorites, japa count, settings) stays only on your device.
What data the App handles
Stored on your device only
The App uses local storage to remember:
- Your favorite Aartis, Chalisas, Bhajans, and Mantras
- Your japa counter total
- Your last-read scripture chapter
- Your font-size preference
This data never leaves your phone. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes it.
Network requests (read-only, anonymous)
The App connects to the public internet only to:
- Stream devotional YouTube videos via the embedded YouTube player. Your interaction is governed by YouTube's Privacy Policy.
- Load public-domain deity images from Wikimedia Commons.
- Optionally play a public-domain audio chant when you tap the Audio button.
We do not log, track, or store the contents of any request.

Children's privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Third-party services
- YouTube (Google LLC) — to play devotional videos. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Wikimedia Foundation — to load free deity images.
These services may set their own cookies or tokens inside their video players or image requests, governed by their respective privacy policies.
Your rights
Since we do not store any personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete. You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing app data from Android Settings → Apps → Sanatan → Storage → Clear data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the new terms.
